G7e Torpedo Technical Info Needed

Dear all,

I am wondering about the technical information about how G7e torpedoes in early 1942.

In specifics:

1) I am trying to understand how the gyro works, and why it works in helping the guidance.

2) I am also wondering how the pendulum and hydrostatic valve works in keeping its depth.

Any help would be terrific. In the simplest terms possible.
