Das Boot Gibraltar

When the U-96 ,was shot by an British Swordfish airplane.
trying to pass Gibraltar,en they where forced to dive.

They cannot stop there dive into the deep,en there goinging beneathe the 260meters.

En luckely the boat dont collapsed due the waterpressure.

Is it possible in the real live that U-boat's can survive under the 260meters
