Good evening all

Some details of the tests carried out on submarine hulls is mentioned in ”The Sea Surrenders” by Capt. W R Fell RN (Ret,d), who took part in the trials off the West of Scotland and Gibraltar in 1949 and 1950.

In Scotland the boats were used in the following order:

Stoic, Supreme, Sceptre, Stygian and Upshot.

Off Gibraltar a brand new hull Achates was tested to destruction.
