On the same set of recently declassified photos there are two other unusual aerial arrangements on the conning tower of the same Type VIIc U-boat.
(1) An FuMB, flat, a square mesh with sides approx 18 inches long, mounted on the schnorchel head.
(2) A tubular aerial standing upright four feet, and apparently projecting through the D/F loop.
I should be grateful for any comments on these two aerials. If there was an semi-circular net aerial wrapped around the winter-garden rails, might these two aerials have been so fitted to project above it?
