Tracking a german deck gun?

Hi

I am with the Danish Maritime Museum. As part of a new exhibition on how Danish sailors experienced the world war we are planning to display 8.8 cm/45 (3.46"winking smiley SK C/35. Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to track the individual gun in order to ascertain what specific uboat(s) it was placed on originally?
