I have been looking at the angle of the Balcongerät and I noted that the Germans reduce this angle each time with a newer type of U-boat. They started with 75º with the Type VIIC and ended with 60º with the Type XXIII.
Did the Germans reduce this angle each time to reduce the noise interference by increasing the hydrodynamics shape of the Balcongerät or do you think there another reason for the reduce angles?
Type VIIC = 75º
Type IX = 70º
Type XXI = 65º
Type XXIII = 60º
