Hi submarinehunt,

Try [www.uboatarchive.net]. Read each of the reports. They were written by the Allies after the capture of U-570 & they go into some detail on most of the technology in U-570. This sounds like what you are looking for & should get you started.

Also see the “Design Studies” link at the bottom of that page. They cover other than Type VII U-boats. They weren’t all the same of course. Also look at the “Index of Design Studies (Go direct to a specific subject within the various reports)” as it has links to specific topics you are probably interested in.
