I live in Poland and I remember the whole system. I see the whole matter in different light (official law vs. everyday practice), but for us now the most important is where to look for the most interesting photos!
As I have have written already the S-56 should come from TASS or Novosti, though Naval Museum in St.Petersburg may help, too.
Regarding the battleship - sorry, no idea who might have made it.
