<HTML>Hi Fran. I just read your message after I posted my own about the Stone Town. I was wondering if you knew someone on that ship. My Dad was a 'stoker' on the Stone Town when he was 18 years old. The bell from the ship is in the town hall in St. Marys, Ontario. At least it was a few years ago. I took pictures of it. The reason it is there is because St. Marys' nickname is Stone Town, & the bell apparently was donated to the town after the war. I have a Naval journal that my Dad kept & it describes the waves, an "Irish Sea" & the action stations. It's great reading.
I wish we could find out that she is still afloat somewhere, but it doesn't look good. I would travel anywhere to see it.</HTML>
