Hello Ray,
My father was on the STONE TOWN also. His name is Pat Foley, I believe he was a gunners mate. He told me a few tales of the war and one sticks in my memory. Did the STONE TOWN capture the first U-boat after the end of hostilities. I seem to remember seeing a photo of a U-boat from an old album when I was young and I believe he also had a German Marine hat band.
My dad passed away in '07 but always maintained that the time he spent at sea were the best of his life.
