Hello Bruce,
Many thanks for your input. ADM223/31 contains a Special Intelligence Summary from O.I.C. "Italian Convoy Situation" and covers the period from 5 October 1941 to 9 May 1943 (Fall of Tunisia). Although mainly concerned with Italian convoys, it does list on occasions movements by Italian warships. It does not contain the original ULTRA signals but most of the information is clearly derived from Ultra signals as it refers often to future sailings giving the date and time and the name of the ships involved and anticipated time of arrival. Each paragraph lists usually two reference numbers (but no Z prefix). Italian Historian Alberto Santoni made heavy use of this source in his book "IL VERO TRADITORE". If you ever find the original ULTRA signal, please let me know. I am also interested in locating the signal concerning the "Aprilia" convoy which involved HMS UPHOLDER on her last patrol.
Best regards,
Platon
