You're right about the date - it was th 4th August 1943
Gordon Smith suggests HMS Arrow had a peacetime crew of around 140 and more in wartime maybe 160 men, only 69 survived , one of whom was my Dad.
His ship was not in the Harbour, he swam for his life when the ship blew up
