my dad was on HMS PENYLAN when it was sunk he was picked up alive but had swollowed so much oil that he died while being brought ashore i was one year old when he was killed my brother was six my mum was just thirty two never married again dedicated her life to bringing us two up must say she did a pretty good job my dad was petty officer telegraphist fredrick watkins and is buried on bonfire hill salcome nr plymouth with some other members of the crew god bless them all
