<HTML>Hello,

John English in his book "The Hunts" (1987, ISBN 0 905617 44 4) gives following details:
"... On 25.2.41 she left Harwich as an additional escort for convoy FN417 (from Thames to Firth of Forth). At 2115hrs on the 25th EXMOOR was sunk by explosion off Lowestoft in position 52.29N/01.50E (German sources suggest that she was torpedoed by the MTB S30, however British sources suggest that the explosion was caused by a mine). The explosion split the hull, causing severe internal damage from the filler-flat to the engine room. Oil fuel, which had been sprayed over the after-end by the explosion, ignited and the after-end was enveloped in flames and the fire spread rapidly forward. EXMOOR finally capsized to port, stood on end and sank in ten minutes. Her survivors were rescued by the patrol vessel SHEARWATER and the trawler COMMANDER EVANS and were subsequently landed at Yarmouth."

Best wishes,
Marek</HTML>
