Hi Lonnie my dad also served on the Swallow from 42-45 and was on the ship when it was sunk he too, ended up with your father-in-law in the sea until he was picked up.He has told me many stories I wonder if your father-in-law is still living? and if he would remember my dad ( Albert Francis Gray) MoMMc1 my dad is still alive and I have been researching.. found the one photo of the Swallow receiving mail and more recently on Ancestry.com all the muster roll calls for the three years it was in service all the way up to the day of sinking with a status report on each of the men.I sure thought it would be fun if I located other shipmates or all still living shipmates. I'm curious as to what state your father lives in? Share this with him please and ask him if he remembers my dad ..he was a machinist and was actually working on making an ice cream machine for the guys with the newly acquired freeon and some of the equipment he hardly ever left the engine room he was so intent on building this thing, but the one the day when the attack happened he decided to go up on deck and that was a fateful decision.I wonder if your father remembers the guy who was trying to build an ice cream maker?
