my grand father matthew heale served on the petard as a gunner. never spoke much of it either except to say young lad from south sheilds helping rescue code with officers the died in house fire 18 years old rescuing mam and sister. plaque in pub nearby. were in malta alot and would return to ship for behavioural bollocking (off caps) from captain. ship sank 3 subs fro 3 different navies italy japan and germany.
