Hello Nick,
The National Archives in London have a series of volumes on British (and Allied) ship movements. I am not absolutely sure of the volume but if there is any file on LOCH MELFORT it would probably be on ADM199/2561 or one of the adjoining volumes. The information is usually very general and casualties are seldom listed.
