Hello Brian and Clio,
I believe that the officer involved was Lt. André Mounier of the French Resistance who worked with the Commandant Breuillac organisation. He was actually landed somewhere in the Gulf of Hammamet (Tunisia), I think he brought along two radios which were used to send information to Malta. French frogmen carried out sabotage operations using limpet mines and reputedly sank or damaged a number of ships. Mounier will be killed in an air crash as he was flying out of Malta in September 1941. Unfortunately details on these operations are very scarce.
