Hello,
I have been following this thread with interest.
There should be some information in the British National Archive at Kew but be aware that records on trawlers can be hit or miss.
The Official Number of CAERPHILLY CASTLE was 136087 therefor her logbooks and crew lists for 1941 should be in reference BT381/1314.
As it seems 3 men where lost in the incident there may also be something in the Deaths at Sea record BT341/79
Also try the "Survivors reports Merchant Ships" in ADM199/2135. I was looking at this file last week on another issue and I don't think there is a report for CAERPHILLY CASTLE but I could be wrong.
There are several refreneces to Enemy air attacks on Merchant shipping 1941 in the ADM199 series but there are too many to list.

None of the records mentioned can be seen online. You can order some things from TNA but if I were you I would plan a trip to Kew and find them yourself.
