METEOR served only briefly in North Africa - in November 1942.

She was completed in August 1942 and after work up joined the 3rd Destroyer Flotilla immediately seeing service in September 1942 covering Arctic convoy PQ.18 and the returning QP.14.

October 1942 assigned to screening 'Force H' (Battleships Duke of York, Rodney & Nelson,cruiser Argonaut).

30 Oct sailed Scapa Flow
6 Nov. 1942 arrived Gibraltar
8 November 1942 - landings at Algiers, North Africa; 'Force H' patrolled to the north of the landing area

December 1942 - back in UK and with 3rd DF & escorting Russian Convoys (JW.53, JW.55A, JW.56B, JW,57, RA.55, RA,56 and RA.57)

She returned to the Mediterranean in Oct. 1944 to serve in the Aegean
18.3.1945 - in company with Lookout, Basque and Tempete, sank German TA.24 and TA.29

Returned England in 11 1945 to pay off and into reserve where she stayed until sold to Turkey in 1959
