Hi David,
Thanks so much for above info was at a loss to any information about her. The depth charging incident I got of this site after doing a google search for HMS Evadne apparently the it was off the coast of cadiz in position 36.29N, 08.20W the British minesweepers Hms Recruit and Pincher were also involved.
My Dad also served on HMS Marsdale 16/09/41 to 02/10/41 then HMS Alynbank 24/10/41 to 12/04/41 HMS Evadne 28/5/42 to 3/08/43 then HMS Searcher 28/09/43 to 28/11/45 then HMs Slinger 21/01/46 to 27/02/46 and Keren 21/03/46 to 08/05/46 in between these dates he was at HMS Mersey which I believe was a dry dock for T124X personnel.
I have found some information and HMS Searcher but not the others when my Dad was on them. His medals are The General Service Medal, The Italy Star, The Burma Star, The Atlantic Star and The 1939-1945 Star. My Mum says Dad went to Murmask and I recall him telling me how hard it was he suffered greatly from the cold and strict rationing...
Thanks for all your help
Kindest regards
Gina
