I inadvertantly posted this under another message above. Here it is again.
It could be, but they picked up Japenese several times. There's actually an episode of Victory at Sea called "The Silent Service" that captures on film a submarine picking up a Japenese pilot. My dad always maintained that it was the Bluefish on film because he remembered the incident and remembered the film crew onboard at the time. You can find the Victory at Sea DVDs in the bargain bins at WalMart.
I once did a search on the National Archives site and found several films identified with the Bluefish. These are short military-made scenes that are cataloged at the National Archives and describe what's on them. In the description, it says that it's a scened of the Bluefish picking up a Japanese pilot. I'm assuming this may be the scene used in the Victory at Sea episode.
