My dad David J Wells from Leavenworth KS served aboard the Chester 43-45. Am not even sure of those dates. He was old for an enlisted man--mid thirties--but he and a neighbor both enlisted in the midst of the war and trained in Farragut.
He died in 1975.
Am trying to connect with my past at present and interested in all of this.
