Marta, I hope this is not too late for your research. The HMS Gipsy was in Barcelona Harbour on 30 July 1936 picking up British citizens to take them to Marseille. Australian writers, Nettie and Vance Palmer, were on it and Nettie writes about it in her diary: "29 Jul: ‘Delay at customs, then on warship “London”, to catch destroyer tomorrow morning at 4.30, moored alongside...30 Jul: ‘On the Gipsy from 4 am.'They arrived in Marseille on 31st. (Nettie Palmer's diary is held at the National Library of Australia.)
