HMS Suffolk 1940- 1945

My Grandfather was a Royal Marine aboard HMS Suffolk during WWII. His 21st birthday fell on 23rd May 1941, the day HMS Suffolk sighted SMS Bismarck, a sighting that resulted in the sinking some days later of the Bismarck.

He celebrates his 90th birthday on 23rd May this year. We are trying to trace anyone who may have served on HMS Suffolk either in the North Atlantic, off the coast of South Africa or in the Indian Ocean.

His name is Ernest Leonard Harvey, he was often known as 'Len', he was (and is) from Wimbledon, and sailed on HMS Suffolk first from Chatham.

Could you contact me (leonkazakos@hotmail.com) if you know anyone who remembers serving with him?

Thank you.
