Hello Simone,

The same source (ADM199/642) reports that RYSA was mined and sunk off Bastia on 8 December 1943. However even official sources have mistakes so I would think that one would need to check the records of the 13th Minesweeping Flotilla, they appear to have been involved in the minesweeping of La Maddalane area. I do not know if these records have survived but they could well be in the London National Archives. Are you absolutely certain that the wreck was British? Could it be an Italian vessel?

The USMM does not have the resources to answer requests but one can visit them (I spent two weeks there last May).
You may find some information on the minefields in the section Archivio LII (Diari di Guerra) in Marisardenia - Marina La Maddalena, Cartella 34). I suspect that it might include a sub-section of "Rotte di sicurezza e sbarramenti". Otherwise it is possible that information on the defensive minefields will also be located in Supermarina/Sbarramenti (there are several volumes).
