steam merchant Gretavale sunk by U-202

According to this web site this vessel was attacked and sunk on 3rd Nov 1941.

The official record for Walter Seed, who was a RA Gunner on this ship, gives his death as Killed in action, at sea, 2nd Nov 1941.

Which is correct?
