a few Horses in royal navy (royal marines) in WWII ?

I remember discussing with a guy serving in WWII with royal marines, in Tunisia
He fought at Mareth Line, Tunisia against Afrika Korps
het told me his direct commanding officer had a horse
According to him it was one of the only horses affected to royal navy in WWII
kind of funny
