Thank you for the correction of the book title. Can you please send me an English language translation of information about UB 87 as appearing on page 314 of Volume 5 of Arno Spindler's book "Der Handelskrieg mit U-Booten"?
I will be glad to pay all expenses involved, and to also send you a copy (at no charge) of the U. S. Navy report (including a detailed battle diagram) about the nine subchaser that attacked a submarine believed to have torpedoed HMS Persic on September 6, 1918. The report focuses on what was believed to be an instance of mercy slaying and suicide of the sub's crew. There seems to be a discrepancy here. I am interested in setting the record straight, and seek your help in so doing.
