U-84 Kapitanleutnant Walter Roehr
Date: May 13, 2005 11:53PM

Kudos to Danemar, Yves D and David H for the prompt response to my query on the British vessel Argyll.
Now I have one last question...?

Their seems to be very little information on the skipper of U-84, Walter Roehr. What little is available in your webpage gives only his name, date of birth, a rather distinguised career sinking in excess of 92,994 tons of shipping on 8 patrols in about 16 months.
Other skippers had numerouos prestigious decorations and other tidbits about their personal lives.
In the history of U-84 it reveals that the sub was possibly rammed and and depth charged by PC62 in the St George Channel at 51.53N o5.44W.
I would appreciate also any direction you could provide on finding some info on PC62. Am I to assume that PC means "
Patrol Craft"?
Thank you a bunch for whatever you or your contacts can provide. Bob
