I can find no trace in 'Lloyds War Losses' or 'British Vessels lost at Sea', of any ship named Hesperus sunk in 1918 ....they do show two vessels so named, but neither seem to have any connection with Granton -

Hesperus - small fishing smack (57 tons), one of a group of four fishermen sunk off Lowestoft in August 1915

Hesperus - Russian steamer, 2231 tons, sunk off Scilly in April 1917
