Hello Graham,
are you sure with the time 01:40 P.M. ? Could it be A.M. ?
KIRHKAM ABBEY was sunk by UB 40 in the early morning (still dark, but have no exact time) while anchoring on Winterton roads!
We have also swedish steamer CRIMDON sunk in Whitby area, but this was at 16:50h and survivors there rescued by HMT CHALCEDONY.
JOHN RETTIG and CHLORIS there sunk in Flamborough Hd. area much later at 22.25h.
