There are several potential sources of information for positions of where ships sank. The first is the KTB of the U-boat involved. Sinking locations are usually but not always provided -- a lot depends on the U-boats commander, when the sinking happened (later usually means more information), and the flotilla's paper work requirements, and how much of it survives. (KTBs almost always do, but not all the other forms U-boat commanders had to file.)
The second would be official statements made to the ship's captain. A copy of these are held at the (British) National Archives at Kew. The logs of ships rescuing survivors might also contain location information.
U 32's KTB gives the location for Karnak as 35°01'N, 15°31'E.
