Trawler-submarine vs. U-Boats

I already have many informations about this method of "eliminating" the U-Boats. Still there are missing pieces. Who knows:
- who's idea it was (position, rank, name?; I've read that Admiralty's put the task on 7th Submarine Flotilla in Rosyth)
- how many trawlers and submarines did the job (names? units?)
- where did they operate (areas)
- as far as I know there were 2 succesful and 2 unsuccesful attacks; in case of the latter ones, what were the names of "hunters" and targets? (one can be Taranaki-C24/U-16, but I have no details).
I hope somebody can help me. If you can't answer the questions above, perhaps you can name good sources (articles, books - except Dwight Messimer's, because I already have them).
