UK/total allied shipyard output in gross tons:
1916: 542,000/1,688,000
1917: 1,163,000/2,838,000
1918: 1,310,000/4,008,000 (first 10 months only)
The US figures contained in the total are approx. 1 million for 1917 and 2.5 million for the first 10 months of 1918. These figures do not include the requisitioned Central Powers ships foreign ports (about 1.1 million) after 1917. All figures include coastal and ocean-going vessels.
