A contact was at Kew...
The defensively-armed SAINT-ANTONIE DE PADOUE was damaged by gunfire at 10:40am (Greenwich) on December 6, 1917 at 50°15N, 6°20'W with one sailor injuried. The gunnery action lasted until 12:15pm. SAINT-ANTONIE DE PADOUE description of the U-boat is most consistant with a UC-class boat.
REINE d'ARVOR, mwanwhile, was also in a gunnery action, this time at 11:15am on December 12, 1917 15 miles west of Sables d'Olonne. The description seems to be of a U-type boat, so presumably U 89 or U 102 based upon the location.
He had no luck finding a match for the December 8th sailing vessel sinking...
Best wishes,
Michael
