Simon: The Dec. 8 action is definitely an odd case, will have to do some more research to get answer (if one exists).
OK, some more information on the cases we do know something about:
ST. ANTOINE DE PADOUE: the answer is U 57, which describes attacking a three-masted sailing vessel at "Trevose Head in 90° 22 sm ab", which returned fire from "three" guns. Not a Q-ship. ST. ANTOINE DE PADOUE, which did indeed have three masts, was actually only fitted with two guns. The times are a little off.
REINE D'ARVOR: U 89's KTB states: "Da keine Treffer bei den stark arbeitenden Boot erzielt werden, Gefecht abgebrochen."
Dec. 15, 1917 action involving BARON LEOPOLD VAVILLIERS: no match in U 89's KTB. Perhaps U 102?
Best wishes,
Michael
