Hi Michael,
I've checked S.M. U 102's KTB. The sole entry on Dec. 15th 1917 is "Mittagsbesteck". The position was quadrant 8072 epsilon, abt. 46°30'N 05°00'W.
The engagement between "Baron Leopold Vavilliers" and an unknown submarine took place at abt. 47°N 03°W.
So I'm sure that S.M. U 102 wasn't the one.
So long,
Simon
