Cheerio, sunk U-boat 23/4/16.

A friend of mines dad owned a wooden ketch rigged trawler. Used to combat U-boats by Adrimalty,in 1917 known as S1. Named Cheerio and Mascot, previously. Skipper A Thompson attacked a submerged U-boat with mined nets. Sub surfaced and rolled over and sank. Skipper received DSO, and crew 1,000 pounds. Sinking was off Lowestoff as far as i know. Could anybody tell me number of U-boat, and Commander, please, thanks Paul.
