Appreciate the input. Yes i believe by 1918 communication in wireless aboard the U-boats as well as other German boats were able to communicate with land devices. If you are familiar with the book "The German Secret Service in America, 1914-1918" by John Price Jones, I suggest having a look at pages 46-53 especially. Thanks for your response.
