Thanks Michael,
It seems strange that German navy would sent two U-boats on the mssion and then the escape group was so small. Getting out of the camp (which seems to have had quite lax security in 1915) was not difficult. It would of course had been a great propaganda coup for Germany if they had pulled off the rescue of even three officers, but I wonder why they didn't try and extract a larger group.
