On 25th January 1917 an Obersteurmann name of Bernard Haak was marooned on board a fishing boat he had been about to sink with bombs, when a patrol boat suddenly suprised his submarine.
Haak told his captors that the submarine was UC 32 but this is almost certainly incorrect, The incident took place 45 miles eastward of the Farne Islands off Northumberland.
Can anyone tell me the identity of the U-boat concerned please ?
