Hi Joe,
the mines were launched just like torpedoes from the torpedo tubes or simply dropped over board. The mines in question were "Teka-Minen" or also called "T.K.-Minen".
T orpedo ka libermine - torpedo calibre mine.
Diameter: 50 cm
Warhead: 100 kg
Length: 2 m
While rising tho the adjusted depth the fuses were pushed out of the mine corpus by compressed air.
