SS Gleneden was wrecked in January 1940 off Anglesey whilst in convoy in bad weather. My grandfather was the Captain. According to his Master's Report of the incident, another ship on his beam altered course towards the Gleneden. Gleneden was forced to take avoiding action to prevent a collision and in doing so was run aground. The crew managed to beach the ship and had to wait 48 hours (due to adverse weather conditions) before a rescue was made by the Maelfre lifeboat. See reference in RNLI wbsite.
I hope this information is of use. I would be grateful of any informaion available obout the history of the Gleneden.
