Hi All
I hope you can help me. My wife has been researching her family tree and has found a great-great grandfather Capt Frank Thompson MBE. He was awarded the MBE for sinking a U-Boat in Shields harbour, possibly late 1918, as he was awarded the MBE in January 1919. At the time of the incident he was Master of the Transport "Ludworth". As i have a large intrest in the Second World War she thought i might be able to help, but i have drawn a blank, apart from what ship he was on and that he sank? a U-Boat and awarded the MBE.
Thanks for any help
Martyn
