Joe,

No, the correct name is ON TIME and it was not sunk. I am aware that various sources credit U 117 with sinking a fishing vessel named OLD TIME based upon, ultimately, the U.S. Navy's official history of German subamrine operations off the U.S. and Canadian coast in 1918.

However, Department of Commerce records as well as U 117's KTB establish this attribution to be wrong.

The Department of Commerce's Bureau of Naviation published a yearly list of U.S. flagged vessels called "Merchant Vessels of the United States." There's no vessel named OLD TIME in the 1918 "Merchant Vessels of the United States." There is an OLD TIME though... which is also listed in the 1919 issue.

The "Annual Report of the Commisioner of Navigation" contains a list of US vessels sunk by enemey action during the war and ON TIME is not included.

In addition, U 117's KTB lists 8 fishing vessels sunk on August 10, 1918 by name and OLD TIME (or ON TIME) is not among them.

Best wishes,
Michael
