the Commander you are lokking for is Mr. Spieß. You may find his pic, that was submitted by me, here on this board at the commander listing.

The most interesting story about his adventures is that he was the "Wachoffizier" - petty officer - (?) on U9 under the command of Lieutenant Commander Weddigen when they attacked the 3 British cruisers Aboukir, Cressy and Hogue in the Hoofden before the Dutch Coast and later, when he became commander of U19, he was the man who shipped Sir Roger Casement to the Irish Coast in 1916.

Both incidents are very thoroughly described in his book. I am quite sure, that a copy of his first book, which you mentioned, can not longer be purchased on the second hand shop, but you will be able to buy a second edition of his book named "Wir jagten Panzerkreuzer", printed in 1938, on amazon.
