Thank you Simon.
The "James J. Bibby" was 242 grt 120.2Ft long; 22ft width 12.6ft draught. one newspaper gives a displacement of about 335 tons.
As a "Q" ship she was fitted with two diesel engines and a armament of 1-4inch Mk VIII ; 2-12pdrs and 1-3pdr guns. She was fitted out as a "Q" ship at Liverpool between Feb and May 1917.
Q 29 was in action with UB 18 on 31st Oct 1917 ( this action is in Spindler).
After the war the vessel was converted into a yacht firstly under the name "REVERIE" and the "DOLPHIN"
In Nov 42 she was one of many yacht, berthed in French ports, that were taken over by the Italian Navy."Dolphin" became FR 201 and was allocated to Naval Academy, but was probably never used by the Italians.
After WWII she was converted into a cargo ship under the name "DOLPHIN" and later a "DOLPHIN CESARANO"
She is reported as being for scrapping in 1965, but remained in Lloyd Register, under a different owner until 1985/1986.
Thank again
Regards,
Michael
