Hi Susan,
ahm, not quite correct ...
U 52 survived the war

it was UB 52 which was sunk by HM submarine H 4

There was even an other "52" operational

But I can understand that this is not really easy to understand for non-Germans not deep into the Kaiser's U-Boats :-)
