Thank you so much. That was the first question I ever asked on this forum and I wasn't at all sure how to put it. Your answer is much kinder than I ever expected. And thanks for the explanation. I am amazed by the number of additions to the U 154's KT which was started by my grandfather when he was doing training in the Kieler Bucht and ended by him when he set sail on his mission. But others have added after that. I will look to see if some of the initials look like the chap you mentioned.
